Surrendering a Dog
We receive an extremely high volume of inquiries and requests to
accept surrendered animals. If you have exhausted all avenues and
find that you still must surrender your boxer, you may contact
our intake coordinator. Please keep in mind that we do have a
waiting list of dogs that need to come into our program, sometimes
as long as two months, so we cannot take your dog tomorrow or by the weekend.
To help us expedite your request as quickly as possible, please observe the
following guidelines:
-
Please give us all pertainent information about your dog: age, name,
spayed/neutered, is he/she up to date on vaccines, on heartworm prevention,
are there any health problems, any behavioral problems, crate trained,
good with other dogs, cats, kids.
-
If you place the dog in either an adoptive home or another rescue, please let us know ASAP
so that we can update our waiting list.
Our intake coordinator will be in touch
with you as soon as possible. Thank you for trusting Lighthouse with your pet!
