Magnum had an angel looking out for him when we received a call from a Good Samaritan. The word was, neighbors noticed he had been left behind in a backyard but no one was living in the home on the property. His angel took him in and contacted Lighthouse Boxer Rescue. Saddened by the story we jumped in to help him. He did suffer a bout of what is best described as extreme depression when first arriving to his foster home. Poor guy had no idea what was going on! One minute he's living with his family, the next minute they are packing up the car with boxes - leaving him to fend on his own. One can only imagine what was going thru his mind as they were driving away without him. He did well during the initial evaluation by our Lighthouse Volunteer but once in the car, it was evident that he was becoming nervous, anxious and confused. Once again poor Magnum was being ripped away from the new family he began to know, into the car of a stranger then into the home of his new foster home, also strangers.

Finding him a forever home hasn't been easy for 2 reasons; 1) we need to be sensitive to the emotional response (depression) he may have and make sure that the Forever Family understands and gives him the space that he needs to adjust, and 2) he does not take well to other dogs in the house so he will need to be the only dog. We surely don't want him to risk losing his family again!

Magnum is estimated to be 2-3yrs old and is doing great with cats and birds in his foster home. He is very food motivated and does well in obedience class. He is easily entertained and complete as long as you give him a window to look out!
