About Dalton:

Dalton was found as a stray emaciated, full of fleas, ticks and other things we won't mention. Dalton's outlook wasn't good. When we found him at our local shelter, he was scheduled to be euthanized. His eyes told us there was hope. It appears as though Dalton has had very little human or animal contact. From his condition it looks as though he's been in a pen his whole life, laying on cement, given food & water whenever someone remembered, which wasn't often. His pen was probably never cleaned judging by the condition of this boys' body. He has wear marks on his elbows, hips and legs. The skin on his legs is very thick and his legs and feet are swollen. His hip & back bones stick out. We are currently working on getting Dalton back into prime condition and evaluating his temperment. Check back to see updates on this poor boy.

10/22 Update: Dalton is doing excellent! He has gained some weight, is eating like a horse, and loves people. He is up to date on all his vaccines, neutered, and awaiting his foster home to open up.

12-2: UPDATE: Dalton has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, this is a disease that affects his thyroid. He has been started on medication and is making remarkable improvements.

12-8: Dalton has got his Christmas wish, he will be going into foster care for Christmas! He will be available for adoption in January! If you're looking for a nice laid back boxer, that likes the occasional walk and car ride, he's your man.

1-4: What a wonderful foster Dalton has turned out to be! He walked into his foster home feeling very timid but within a week, he has become a very special foster and he is starting to come out of his shell. He is excellent with kids and tolerates the cats better than his foster mom does! ;) Dalton is crate trained and house broken and although he loves to lay around on his dog bed, he is also thrilled to play with toys. He loves squeeky toys. His foster mom thinks he may be an engineer at heart, though, because he likes to take his toys apart to see what makes them squeek. ;) If you are interested in making this wonderful young man a part of your home, apply today.
