ADOPTION APPLICATION INFORMATION
Our restrictions
  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age
  • Applicant must be the head of household or spouse. 
  • No applications will be processed unless they have been submitted by the actual applicant.  Dogs are NOT good surprise gifts, so if you are trying to surprise someone with a dog and you submitted the application with their name on it, you will be denied.
  • No applications will be processed for persons who have brought a dog into their home within the past 6 months
Our process
Once your application is submitted, it is assigned to an application processor.  This person is responsible for verifying your references and completing your home visit.  Your processor should contact you within a few days of receipt of your application to let you know who is processing the application and to allow you to answer any questions that he or she may have regarding your application.  This is also when you can ask questions regarding our process and your application. 

Once your reference checks have been completed, your application processor should contact you to schedule a home visit.  This visit is not to inspect the cleanliness of your home -- it is to meet you and to help us understand what type dog would best fit into your household.  At this time, you may also wish to discuss any current fosters that you are interested in.  It is very important that all members of the household be present for this home visit.  This is how your processor can best evaluate your lifestyle and will help in selecting which dog would work best in your household.
